Katarina & Adrian

Meet Katarina and Adrian. These two lovebirds are living out on Oahu as Adrian is stationed here. Recently married and do to the circumstances had yet to get professional photos done. Adrian's dad, Adrian Sr., wasn't having it and wanted photos of his boy and new daughter-in-law. So,, for Christmas he bought them a gift certificate for a session with Jenna Lee Pictures from Afghanistan.. YES, AFGHANISTAN. (What a cool dad!!) Adrian Sr. is also in the military and currently deployed. After a bit of a delay due to their busy schedules, we finally had what turned out to be the perfect morning!

At 7a the lighting in the park was absolutely beautiful creating gorgeous bokeh that danced across the images. As you may know, I have a love affair with natural lighting and prime lenses! This was primarily shot with a 50mm 1.4 and a 5d mk III.

Looking for the perfect gift for someone? Contact us today for information on purchasing gift certificates or to book your session. A photo session with Jenna Lee Pictures is truly a unique gift, there's nothing more priceless than beautiful moments captured between you and those you love most that you can cherish forever. Aloha!

Fitness Lifestyle Beach Shoot

Recently had a killer shoot on the beach with the amazing dancer Nicole Vela-Bailey and her friend Aubrey. Nicole dances in the famous nightly "Legends in Concert" show here in Waikiki she is also a stunt double for big Hollywood movies! Most recently you can check her out in the new movie Godzilla. Here is just a little sneak from their shoot at what happens to be one of my most favorite beaches on the island!

Not only is nicole super graceful in every movement she makes, this chica is 100% pure muscle. I'm always in awe as I watch her tumble, flip, bend, and smile. She kicks ass.
The above image was created for a campaign wanting "super sunny" images.

This was a mix between a lifestyle and a fitness shoot. Because we specialize in people and capturing what makes you.. YOU.

Those candid moments...

I was recently at Dave & Busters after a Senior Photo shoot, where my cousin and his little one met me for dinner. She's super spunky at the sassy little age of three and half (my cousins kid, not my cousin- though I will say, she totally got it from her daddy! He's been a sassy little trouble maker since he was born. I could write for ages on the trouble he used to get me into, I have scars all over my body to prove it. Thanks cuz! But back to my story..) I was super stoked I just happened to have my DSLR with my 50 prime lens coming off a shoot when this magic happened..

Mia's little bestfriend Ineza showed  up to her great surprise...

"My friend!! My friend!! That's my friend!!" They both kept jumping up and down yelling as they hugged and hugged and hugged. Too stinkin cute they then sat through lunch, laughing, hugging, and gabbin' like a couple of old ladies over coffee. You'd think these 2 had been best friends for years.

Mia and her Daddy, then showed Ineza how to shaka, because you can't be a kamaaina keiki and not know how to shaka, right? I think Mia had her shaka down before she could walk or talk that little girl is on point when it comes to her local swag. She always seems to teach Auntie Jenna a thing or two.

The great thing about Dave & Busters is they have BALLOONS! & what's better than a stinkin cute kiddo and a balloon when you have your DSLR and a 50? Not much! I got the hugest kick out of Ineza who constantly has a blast playing with her daddy, go nuts with this balloon. Pretty sure she was cracking up for 15 minutes straight.

Taking little ones to Dave & Busters is especially rad when they're at the age where they "think" they're playing the game... but really the demo is just running.. then you can keep all of the credits yourself and just give them the tickets! Mia had an awesome time running around "playing" all the games while Auntie Jenna got some much needed gaming time in. (4d Zombie game anyone? My fav!)

Afterwards Mia was about to pass out, but not before she picked out a prize...

...amongst other things.

Mia, I envy your ability to multi-task.
Love, Auntie Jenna.

Baby Ximena

One cutie pie kiddo I can never get enough of is baby Xime. I captured these shots during an adorable stylized shoot for her big first birthday cards. While the shots of her wearing her birthday suit are a surprise for those to receive her announcements-- Here are a couple shots that I'm happy to hare. She is too darn cute for words..
I loved this sterling black and white for the classy mood this photo gave off and her bright little spirit.

Cousin Jance then jumped in on the action looking ever so dapper in his overalls.
For this shot I chose a warmer black and creme which I felt fitting to the mood. Those eyes? I could just melt!
Xime's mommy then through this adorable little mini mouse outfit on her and we just went crazy!
That's when the magic happened and Mama (who hadn't planned on being in any of the photos) interacted with Xime to make her smile and coo, and I captured this little amazing shot just full of story and emotion. i just LOVE it. It's my favorite shot from the shoot. It just doesn't get much cuter than this!

Loren & Zohar's First Look

I'm always overjoyed when a couple decides to do a "First Look" during their wedding session. It's such an intimate event. Sure, it's exciting to see that person you're about to spend the rest of your life with for the first time on the aisle, your gasps shared by those in the audience. But what makes the moment even more beautiful and intense, is to share the enormity of that moment solely with the person who means more to you than anyone else-- and with that moment, being able to hold it, build it, cherish it, enjoy it, feel it and share it. Allowing yourselves the beauty of holding on to and enjoying it for as long as possible. A moment meant for just the 2 of you, while your photographers capture it from a distance. Holding on to one another, being present for one another, and living together in that moment.

I know you're all dying to experience a little piece of what Loren and Zohar experienced the moment they saw eachother for the very first time, which is why I'm so excited to share with you this sweet blog, detailing the most special event.
~

Gorgeous Loren was an absolute vision in her gown as she looked at herself in the mirror one last time before going to the man she'd be spending the rest of her life with.

She walked down the hallway from the bridal suite, into the courtyard where her husband to be sat in  much anticipation waiting for his bride.

The moment Loren saw him, even though just from the back, she was overcome with so much emotion, she wasn't able to hold the tears back.

She slowly approached him, the anticipation enormous. She smiled as tears rolled down her face.

She paused in an attempt to keep it together, as she watched her soon to be husband sitting there, waiting for her. Zohar remained calm and cool, as his stunning bride stood behind him. Inside we knew the anticipation was killing him (it was definitely killing us!)

Finally, she reached out slowly and touched his shoulder. He was asked not to turn around until he felt her touch.

(WOW!)

They smiled, they laughed, and they danced.
(& I think their photos speak for themselves.)

I feel eternally grateful for being able to have a special place and not only be there to bare witness to this beautiful event, but to help capture it for them to cherish for all of eternity.
