Nikol & Ryan Engagement Photos

Meet beautiful Nikol and her beau Ryan!
When I heard this couple was engaged I was bursting with joy, and what an honor to fly out to Los Angeles to get to shoot their engagement photos.
This hilariously awesome couple, are from amazingly fun families and are ALWAYS having a good time. With a Country chic styled wedding, we decided to head to the fields of gorgeous grasses to get our photos sesh on.

The key to a successful engagement session is to connect with your couple- who are they? what inspires them? what drives them? who are they at their core? In this case Nikol and Ryan are a super fun and sweet couple, the love the country chic vibe, a beautiful alternative to the hustle and bustle Los Angeles has to offer.

Update: I got to shoot this amazing couple's wedding (that blog to come soon) It was such a joy to see how they incorporated one of my images from their engagement shoot on the special cards at the placemats for each and every guest!

I must say, I absolutely loved their personal message to fam & friends.. It really encompassed this awesome couples personalities and amazing love for their incredible group of family and friends! It couldn't have been more perfect!

& here's a piece they had made up for Nikol's parents! They used one of my fav photos from the shoot. I must say it warms my heart to help create something that people will cherish forever. I feel so honored and blessed to be invited into so many lives, so thankful for the wonderful clients I've had the privilege of getting to know over the years, and so humbled by all of the sweet words from those who love their photos and the photos of others. I am truly grateful.

CONGRATULATIONS NIKI & HURLEY!!!

Pinterest - Obsess Much?

I must say I have new found obsession with Pintrest. Until recently I didn't... get it. I'm only disappointed I hadn't explored the glory of Pintrest sooner. In  this day and age, every social media avenue is a great deal of work to keep a steady presence on.. When you now look at all of the various options for internet marketing, it'll make your head spin!
BLOGS, facebook, websites, twitter, linked in, pintrest, instagram... to just name a few of the more popular options. I didn't think I had time for whatever this Pintrest was, and actually I'm guilty of feeling annoyed whenever I saw someone "pinning" a million things that facebook felt obligated to share with me.
But alas that person is me! Sorta... I did disabled Facebook notifications.
You're welcome.

My newest pintrest obsession?? PEACOCK wedding goodies!!!!!
(Follow me @Jennaleepics  -- Pintrest, Twitter, Instagram)

I think it's safe to say when my big day finally comes, I'm rockin Peacock ALL THE WAY. I am in love.. Purple and Peacock, my colors, soooo gorgeous. Love, Love, Love!

In the mean time, I am stylizing an amazingly gorgeous bridal shoot at the Makaha Ranch here on Oahu. Being that the ranch lands have been made home to a flock of wild peacocks (who started as the pets of royalty) I found it fitting to incorporate gorgeous peacock feathers into the shoot. Hence my journey for wedding peacock goodies. If you know of anyone who would love their gorgeous works featured in this amazing shot, please contact me at jennalee@jenaleepictures.com

They will also get shout-outs on my social media, and have their gorgeous goodies, bragged about to local Wedding Coordinators.. (did I mention the bride and groom are local concierges at a high end resort?)

Woo Hoo! Love peacock, Love Pintrest, LOVEE PHOTOGRAPHY!
Thank you for reading.

Jenna Lee's Child Photography Tip #0034

Jenna Lee's Child Photography Tip # 0034

When dealing with a super active, high energy kiddo... RELAX and shoot.
To capture the child being natural in their environment, is to capture the true essence of the child.
Bouncing energy off of the child by reacting to their energy, only intensifies the situation.

I had about 5 minutes to capture the beautiful little Kiki below and she was BOUNCING off the walls. After a quick Peek-a-boo sesh...

My main objective was to try and get this beautiful little one in front of the colorful wall of this boutique restaurant (Java Jazz in Maui) I decided to lay down on the floor and just chill, maybe capture a few shots of her from the ground. Kiki immediately looked at me and laid down on the floor beside me. I grabbed this flower and gave it a sniff... "what a pretty flower!" and the rest is history...

Love this girl.

Next time you have an over active child... just remember to RELAX. If nothing else, you'll capture that child's personality, as they explore the giant world ahead of them full speed.
